Position: Risk Manager

Position Requirements:

The Risk Manager is responsible for developing and managing the organization’s risk management program. Position will also be responsible for the following:

  • Develops and implements an effective risk management program to support Elusys drug development projects and overarching corporate goals
  • Develops and implements systems, policies and procedures for identification, analysis and mitigation of risk across all project phases
  • Analyzes project risks and assists in determining the most effective approach to minimize exposure while achieving project goals
  • Educates and trains colleagues about the risk management process and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the program
  • Leads, facilitates, and advises departments in designing risk management programs within their areas of responsibility
  • Ensures that team members understand clearly what is expected of them and are engaged
  • Monitor contractor risks, participate in contractor meetings and review contractor risk reports
  • Develops and maintains a risk databases to collect, evaluate and maintain risk data and the application of lessons learned
  • Works to generate useful metrics and report progress on the risk management process
  • Provides regular updates to the project team, senior management and the US government customer

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in a life sciences or business administration field of study
  • A minimum of three years experience in one or more of the following areas:  risk management, quality improvement, biopharmaceutical drug development
  • Solid knowledge of risk management practices implemented in a project management environment
  • Experience working on HHS and/or DoD funded programs is highly desirable
  • Requires excellent communications skills (oral and written) and the ability to interact effectively with senior technical and management personnel
  • Knowledge of data collection, analysis, and presentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • High energy level along with a desire to attain goals and work as a team player
