ELUSYS THERAPEUTICS TO PRESENT AT BIO CEO AND INVESTOR CONFERENCE

(Pine Brook, NJ – February 20, 2004) Stephen Sudovar, President and CEO of Elusys Therapeutics, Inc. will discuss the Company’s lupus drug at the BIO CEO and Investor Conference next week. The conference is being held February 23-25, 2004 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. Mr. Sudovar’s presentation will be part of the Focus Session entitled, “Lupus: Another Prevalent Autoimmune Disease,” on Wednesday, February 25th at 9:30 a.m.

Elusys is developing a lupus drug, ETI-201, that has shown great promise in clinical trials to date. ETI-201 was developed to remove the pathogenic DNA antibodies that develop in the majority of lupus patients and are believed to play a major role in the organ complications seen with this disease. The results of a Phase I/II clinical trial demonstrate that ETI-201 is safe in both normal and lupus patients and reduces circulating DNA antibody levels.

Currently there is no cure for lupus, which afflicts more than 500,000 Americans, making it one of the most prevalent autoimmune diseases. The BIO Focus Session panel will profile the most promising biotech treatments to address lupus and will examine the strategies through which the leading biotechs in the autoimmune field have built their businesses.

Elusys is a biopharmaceutical company developing first-in-class antibody therapies for autoimmune diseases, cancer and infectious disease using its proprietary heteropolymer (HP) technology. The Company has successfully advanced three products to the IND and Phase I stage, with additional products in its pipeline. Additional information about Elusys can be found at www.elusys.com.

The BIO CEO and Investor Conference is the largest biotechnology industry-run investor event in the world.
