TECHNOLOGY
Elusys develops targeted immunotherapies for the treatment of infectious disease using high affinity antibodies and bispecific Heteropolymer (HP) Antibodies that utilize complement receptor 1 (CR1) to enhance pathogen clearance and destruction.
Anthim™ is an affinity enhanced antibody that effectively increases survival in test animals by neutralizing the Protective Antigen (PA) component of anthrax toxin. Other product candidates in our pipeline for treatment of Staphyloccocus aureus and Candida are based upon our HP technology.
CR1 receptors are expressed on red blood cells and most other cells of the immune system: B lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells. Elusys has conducted recent in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrating that targeting CR1 can elicit immune responses and may provide a new platform for vaccine therapy.
